Known for its quality scuba diving, Cozumel is a Mexican island located in the Caribbean Sea. Though Cozumel is a popular spot for all-inclusive resorts, most of the properties in this destination are family-friendly. That being said, there are still a few resorts that would be considered adult-friendly. Let’s review the round-up for all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Cozumel!
Secrets Aura Cozumel
adults-only, Price: $$, Rating: 5-star
This 5-star luxury resort features world-class spa access, an onsite PADI dive center and pier for recreation, and baby turtle observation (when in season). There are 3 different pools including an infinity, a relaxation, and a swim-up bar pool. If you opt for Preferred Club, you get access to a 4th pool.
Secrets has 8 dining options on property as well as 5 bars. Cuisines include French, Japanese, International, and Seafood. For a romantic private dinner, you can book at La Cava (at an additional cost) in a refined wine cellar setting.
IDEAL FOR:
Ideal for travelers seeking a true luxury all-inclusive adults-only stay in Cozumel.
Ventanas Al Mar
No Children under 12, Price: $$, Rating: 3-star
Though not exclusively all-inclusive, your stay at Ventanas Al Mar does include breakfast. Rooms are 7 to 13 meters above the ocean, which offers beautiful ocean views and sounds of waves crashing on the rocks below. Like Secrets, Ventanas Al Mar participates in the sea turtle protection program, where guests can watch newborn turtles return to the sea.
IDEAL FOR:
Ideal for travelers who prefer boutique settings over mega-resorts.
Occidental Cozumel
Adults-Only Pool & Spa, Price: $$, Rating: 5-star
Because Cozumel is considered one of the top 5 scuba destinations in the world, Occidental Cozumel provides guests with diving equipment needed to swim with marine life. Other onsite activities include kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, and water polo.
For a more luxurious stay, opt for the Royal Level. The Royal Level is like a boutique hotel within a resort and provides guests with elevated rooms, whirlpool tubs, an exclusive a la carte restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, complimentary Wi-Fi, an exclusive whirlpool, separate reception area, concierge service, room service, and priority restaurant reservations.
There are 7 restaurants and 5 bars as well as an evening dance club with DJ music. Cuisine includes Mexican, Mediterranean, Seafood, Italian, and International.
Note that there have been some recent reports of poor food quality and beach erosion (2022), though these issues are hopefully being addressed by management.
IDEAL FOR:
Ideal for travelers who want to stay at a hotel with friendly staff.
Meliá Cozumel
Adults-Only pool, Price: $$, Rating: 4-star
Rooms have private balconies and floor to ceiling windows with garden or ocean views. For a more luxurious stay, upgrade to The Level. This guarantees an exclusive room with a Bali bed, private check-in and check-out, and private breakfast and lounge areas.
There are 8 restaurants and bars which include Seafood, Mexican, and International cuisine.
IDEAL FOR:
Ideal for guests that appreciate clean facilities and an accommodating staff for a good price.
